Red-Shouldered Hawk

We are lucky enough to live in a rural,area of Florida,that still has quite a large stand of cypress and pine trees.Every evening,about 4 o'clock we start hearing the sound of numerous hawks calling to each other.It has been my mission to get some decent pictures of them.The first two I captured on a sunny day.

This one I captured yesterday evening,when it was quite cloudy.I have never seen two sitting togather.The first one had been calling quite loudly,and the second hawk flew to him/her.Then the first hawk flew off.It looked as if someone was playing hard-to-get,or troubles at home?

SkyWatch Friday---Balloons!

This morning,while it was a cold 38* here in Florida,we were lucky enough to be treated to a morning balloon show! Right over our house.

Deputies: No Injuries In Lutz Hot-Air Balloon Collision

LUTZ - Hillsborough County deputies and fire rescue workers are at the scene of a hot-air balloon collision in Lutz, authorities said.
Two balloons appear to have crashed into some trees and power lines near U.S. 41 and Newberger Road, said sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway. No one is reported injured. The emergency call came in at 8:02 a.m., Callaway said.

Olive jar full of olive shells!

I was fortunate enough to inherit my mother's beautiful shell collection.The Olive shell was her favorite shell,so,I took the best ones and put them in an olive jar.It now sits atop our refrigerator.

I love the night light!It's in our bathroom,and it gives off the nicest glow, at night.
